Russia, North Ossetia: North Ossetian branch of IDGC of the North Caucasus are taking measures for safe operation of power equipment at high temperatures.
In order to ensure reliable and stable supply of power, North Ossetian branch of IDGC of the North Caucasus (Rosseti Group) is implementing a set of measures aimed at increasing the level of fire protection of power grid facilities and reduce the risk of fires in power transformers.
The programme involves regular briefings and training exercises for operational maintenance and repair personnel on fire safety in order to verify safety of the premises, power transformers, substations and routes of transmission lines. One such training was held in the 110 kV substation Severo-Zapadnaya in the capital city, reports Interfax Russia.
During the summer season, regular inspections of power transformers and other substation equipment are carried out to ensure temperature control modes and serviceability of cooling systems.
Inspections over the work of oil-filled equipment, cooling systems of power transformers and other potential risk of fire equipment are also being carried out.
