Russia, Moscow: JSC Moscow United Electric Grid has completed the first phase of the reconstruction of 110/10/6 kV Chistaya substation.
To increase the capacity of the feeding centre, one of two additional 40 MVA transformers has been installed. After the installation of the second transformer, capacity will more than double from 50 MVA to 130 MVA. A new building was constructed with a complete 110 kV gas-insulated switchgear.
The total cost of upgrading the substation Chistaya, which was launched in 2008, will be RUB 1.33 billion ($36 million), reports Energy Land.
“The main result of the reconstruction will not only increase capacity, reliability and security of the substation, but it will also open grid connection to new consumers. All installed equipment is modern, it is distinguished by reduced size, improved reliability and increased throughput compared to samples of previous years. Application of advanced technologies in the manufacture of equipment will reduce operating costs, increase reliability and fire safety, as well as increase the planned overhaul maintenance interval.” said the director of the Central United Electric Grid electricity Vsevolod Ivanov.
