ACWA Power to commission 2.6 GW of solar projects
ACWA Power will begin operations in the second half of the year for four domestic solar projects with a combined capacity of 2620 MW.

Saudi Arabia, Riyadh: Saudi Arabia’s ACWA Power will begin operations in the second half of the year for four domestic solar projects with a combined capacity of 2620 MW and a total investment of SAR 11.5 billion ($3.06 billion/€2.81 billion). The projects are Sudair PV IPP (1.5 GW), The Red Sea Project Saudi Arabia (340 MW), Ar Rass PV IPP (700 MW), and Laylaa PV IPP (80 MW).
The Red Sea Development Company will purchase the from The Red Sea Project, while the output of the other three projects will be sold to the Saudi Power Procurement Company (SPPC). The solar power plants will greatly raise the country’s renewable capacity which was 2.98 GW in 2023.
