India, Rajastan / Uttar Pradesh: Adani Energy Solutions Ltd., through its subsidiary Rajasthan Part I Power Transmission Limited, has awarded a contract for HVDC terminals that will transmit renewable energy from Rajasthan to Uttar Pradesh. The contract went to a consortium of Hitachi Energy and Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL).

The HVDC system, spanning 950 kilometers, will transport clean energy from the Bhadla solar area to Fatehpur, a key industrial and transport hub. This innovative approach will power up to 60 million households in India.

HVDC technology is highly cost-effective for transmitting renewable energy over long distances, and its two-way flow enhances grid stability. This project will not only help India’s energy transition but also accelerate the integration of renewable energy into the national grid.

With a capacity of 6 gigawatts, the HVDC link is set to make a significant contribution to India’s clean energy goals, supporting the expansion of renewable power generation and transmission across the country.
