Egypt: Dubai-based sustainable investments firm Alcazar Energy Partners has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Egyptian Electricity Transmission Company (EETC) and the New and Renewable Energy Authority (NREA) for the development of a 2 GW onshore wind farm in Egypt.

The project location, cost or timelines weren’t disclosed, but it is anticipated to produce enough clean electricity to power over 1.3 million households and prevent the release of up to 4.7 million tonnes of CO2 emissions annually. It will create up to 12500 construction jobs and 1170 full time operation jobs.
