Australia approves 654 MW renewable projects under CIS

The projects are scheduled to be operational by October 2027.

Australia: Four new renewable projects will add 654 MW to power over 600,000 homes in Western Australia. They are set to go live by October 2027.

The approved projects include:

  • Boddington Giga Battery 324 MW – PGS Energy
  • Merredin Big Battery 100 MW – Atmos Renewables
  • Muchea Big Battery 150 MW – Neoen
  • Waroona Renewable Energy Project 80 MW – Frontier Energy

These initiatives will invest $91 M (AUD 145 M) in local community projects and $26 M (AUD 41.5 M) in programs for First Nations groups.

All four projects are scheduled to be operational by October 2027, contributing to Australia’s clean energy goals and strengthening the region’s power grid.
