USA, Virginia, Lynchburg: Delta Star Inc. is investing $35 M to expand its power transformer manufacturing facility in Lynchburg, Virginia, adding 300 new jobs. The project aims to meet surging global demand for energy solutions that emphasize reliability and sustainability.
Established in 1962, the Lynchburg site serves as Delta Star’s headquarters and primary production hub for mobile substations and transformers that support critical grid infrastructure. These mobile units can be rapidly deployed during outages, increasing grid resilience.
As part of the expansion, Delta Star will enhance its technological capabilities and improve manufacturing efficiency to stay ahead of evolving energy sector needs.
“This investment will not only increase our manufacturing capacity but also allow us to continue advancing our technological capabilities,” said Jason Greene, Delta Star President and CEO.
Support for the expansion includes a $2.3 M grant from the Commonwealth’s Opportunity Fund, backed by Governor Glenn Youngkin. Workforce training will be provided by the Virginia Talent Accelerator Program, in partnership with the Virginia Economic Development Partnership and City of Lynchburg.
Delta Star’s expansion adds to a wave of manufacturing growth in Virginia, underscoring the state’s role as a rising hub for advanced energy infrastructure.
