Spain, Madrid: Engie España, part of French utility group Engie SA, has signed a ten-year power purchase agreement (PPA) to supply renewable energy to French supermarket chain Carrefour, which also has stores in Spain. Engie will supply around 180 GWh of electricity per year to the chain.

The agreement states that Carrefour will be powered by four Engie assets, two wind farms and two solar farms, as it moves to reach 100% renewable energy use by 2030. This will enable the company to cover nearly 30% of its consumption in Spain.
