Estonia/Ukraine: Estonia has provided Ukraine with more than 140 transformers and over 300 pieces of energy equipment through the EU Civil Protection Mechanism. Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal stated this at a meeting with Estonian Prime Minister Kristen Michal.
“We appreciate Estonia’s contribution to Ukraine’s energy sustainability. Only through the EU Civil Protection Mechanism, Estonia has provided us with more than 140 transformers and more than 300 units of energy equipment. We have received significant support at the state, regional, municipal, and private sector levels,” Shmyhal commented.
He added that Estonia was the first to offer patronage over the Zhytomyr region, where several infrastructure projects have already been implemented. Shmyhal also expressed gratitude to the partners for developing the Maritime Industry Recovery Plan for Ukraine and a strategy for attracting donors for its implementation. Meanwhile, Michal emphasized that Estonia would continue supporting Ukrainians, especially with equipment.
“A certain number of turbines, generators and transformer stations are already on their way to Ukraine. And we anticipate that they will arrive in your country next month,” he said.
According to Ukrinform reports, Estonia has already provided Ukraine with nearly €542 million in defense support.
