GE Vernova T&D India Wins $57 M transformer mandate

GE Vernova T&D India Ltd has won $57 M (₹500 crore) orders from Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd for transformers and reactors.

India, Noida: GE Vernova T&D India has secured three orders for the supply and installation of transformers and reactors under a “bulk procurement” initiative, according to a regulatory filing.

The orders involve 765 kV transformers and reactors of various capacities, with execution scheduled over the next three years.

As reported by T&D India, R.K. Tyagi, Chairman & Managing Director, PGCIL, previously stated that to avoid delays in sourcing high-voltage equipment, PGCIL was going in for bulk procurement of standardised equipment. PGCIL is expected to commission projects worth approximately $2 B (₹18,000 crore) in FY25 with an aggressive implementation push anticipated in March 2025.

GE Vernova T&D India’s order inflow in the first three quarters of FY25 reached $890 M (₹7,787 crore), marking a nearly 75 % increase from $511 M (₹4,456 crore) in the same period of FY24. As of December 31, 2024, the company’s order book stood at $1.2 B (₹10,781 crore).
