India, Goa: Goa’s power grid just got stronger with the successful test-charging of a 220 kV transmission line connecting Dharbandora and Xeldem substations on 30 May 2025. This critical upgrade, part of Resonia Limited’s Goa Tamnar Transmission Project, is designed to deliver more stable and reliable electricity to homes and businesses across the state.
The new line adds to several key milestones already achieved in the project. In November 2024, Goa completed the energisation of the 400 kV Mapusa–Dharbandora line and the 400 / 220 kV Dharbandora substation. Other major developments include the commissioning of the 53 km long 400 kV Xeldem–Mapusa Line-1 and Line-2, as well as the Dharbandora GIS substation, equipped with two 500 MVA transformers.
Together, these advancements are set to enhance grid stability, improve transmission efficiency, and support the state’s long-term growth and development objectives. The Tamnar project remains a cornerstone in Goa’s journey toward a more resilient and future-ready power infrastructure.
