USA, Florida, Miami: At the 20th Energy & Transformers Days held in Miami, Hitachi Energy introduced TXellence, a specialised transformer portfolio designed to meet the unique requirements of nuclear power facilities. The launch underscores the growing importance of nuclear energy in supporting a resilient, low-carbon power system.
TXellence includes power, distribution, dry-type, liquid-filled, conventional, and digitally enabled transformers, all engineered to meet international nuclear safety standards and the specific needs of nuclear power plants. These transformers serve critical roles throughout the plant lifecycle, including grid interface, auxiliary operations, and emergency backup systems.
With more than five decades of experience in nuclear applications and over 250 nuclear-grade transformers delivered across North America, Europe, and Asia, Hitachi Energy positions TXellence as a benchmark in transformer reliability. The product line is equipped with features such as TXpand® rupture-resistant tanks and RESIBLOC® dry-type insulation, while also integrating digital monitoring through the TXpert™ ecosystem.
TXellence supports both traditional nuclear projects and emerging small modular reactor (SMR) installations. The product reflects the company’s broader strategy to standardise processes and expand nuclear-grade production capabilities across its global manufacturing sites.
According to Bruno Melles, Managing Director of the Transformers business at Hitachi Energy, TXellence embodies the company’s commitment to building a secure and sustainable nuclear energy infrastructure worldwide.
