To proactively respond to the growing global energy demand and diversification of supply chains, ILJIN Electric, a leading manufacturer in the field of power transformers and electrical equipment, has recently completed a large-scale expansion of its transformer factory located in Hongseong, Chungcheongnam-do, South Korea. Through this expansion, ILJIN Electric has enhanced both production efficiency and supply capacity, particularly strengthening its competitiveness in the ultra-high voltage transformer market.
The expanded transformer production line, which began operation in November 2024, spans an area of 490198.4 sqm and has increased the annual production capacity of ultra-high voltage transformers from 18,000 MVA to 30,000 MVA. A central control system automatically manages temperature and humidity to maintain a stable production environment. Additionally, the company has a strict quality control system that meets international standards, along with its own high-voltage testing facilities. All transformers undergo a comprehensive inspection and high-voltage withstand tests before shipment to ensure reliability.
With the expansion of the transformer factory, ILJIN Electric has strengthened both the flexibility of product production and its ability to respond to a diverse lineup. As a result ILJIN Electric now offers a wide range of products, including power transformers (for efficient power transmission), Scott transformers (for converting three-phase to two-phase), electric furnace transformers (for high-current industries such as steelmaking), shunt reactors (for voltage regulation and reactive power compensation), mobile transformers (for emergency and temporary power supply), rectifier transformers (for electric furnaces and special industries), and offshore wind power transformers (for renewable energy). Additionally, ILJIN Electric provides customized design solutions optimized for various power grid environments and operating conditions.
