Ipsum acquires Matrix Power

Ipsum is expanding in the northeast with the newest acquisition.

UK, Manchester: Specialist engineering services provider Ipsum has announced its acquisition of Middlesborough-based business, Matrix Power, expanding its power business in the northeast of England.

Matrix Power has a dedicated team of commissioning engineers, field technicians, cable jointers and cable installers that will build on Ipsum’s existing expertise in the region.

The acquisition will build on existing capabilities in high voltage electrical power systems including design, equipment installation, cable installation and jointing, commissioning, preventative maintenance and 24/7 emergency call out and repairs.

Matrix also brings nationally recognised, specialist expertise in the design, installation and commissioning of DC and light rail traction power systems, adding to Ipsum’s already extensive portfolio of clients across many market segments.

Andrew Cowan, CEO at Ipsum, said: “The addition of Matrix Power’s expertise will allow us to expand our existing footprint in the northeast and broaden our availability across the north of England and Scotland. We look forward to bringing Matrix Power into the Ipsum fold.”
