USA / Malaysia: JST Power Equipment Inc. has announced the opening of a new transformer manufacturing facility in Port Klang, Malaysia, marking the company’s ninth production site worldwide. The plant will manufacture pad-mounted distribution transformers ranging from 25 kVA to 6000 kVA, with voltage ratings up to 35 kV.

In its initial year, the facility is expected to produce 700 units, with a targeted increase to 3,500 units by 2026, supporting JST’s global capacity expansion plans. Future production lines will also include dry-type VPI transformers.

“This expansion allows us to better serve our customers and meet future demand,” said Matt Polk, Executive Vice President and General Manager of JST Power Equipment. “We are excited to see the continued growth of our global operations.”

The move strengthens JST’s presence in the Asia-Pacific region and supports growing demand for distribution and medium-voltage transformer solutions. The company continues to scale its operations in line with increased global electrification and infrastructure investment.
