Australia: RTE International (RTEi), a subsidiary of European TSO RTE, has announced the creation of a subsidiary in Oceania, RTEi Australia Pacific.
The consulting and engineering firm, specialising in power grid development and maintenance, sees this move as part of its growth strategy to strengthen its position in the Australian energy market.
Veronika Milewski, CEO of RTE International, stated: “We are proud to expand our expertise in Oceania. This subsidiary will enhance existing partnerships and create new opportunities in response to the challenges of the energy transition.”
Australia is a key market due to its renewable energy integration and modernisation efforts. RTEi Australia Pacific will serve as a local provider, leveraging expertise in engineering, live working, and HVDC solutions to support energy infrastructure development.
RTEi has been active in Australia for over 10 years through its partnership with Powerlink, Queensland’s transmission system operator (TSO). Its teams have provided expertise in live working (LWW), conducting work on live electrical equipment, through technical assistance, training, audits, and equipment supply.
In 2023, RTEi renewed its partnership with Powerlink and began supporting EDF Australia in developing transmission projects in New South Wales and Victoria. These projects focus on 500 kV infrastructure, enhancing renewable energy connections and interstate interconnections.
