Ireland, Dublin: A planning application for the 824 MW Dublin Array offshore wind farm will be submitted to An Bord Pleanála. The project is jointly owned by RWE, leading the development, and the Irish renewable energy company Saorgus Energy Ltd.
The project will be located 10 kilometres off the coast of counties Dublin and Wicklow. If planning permission is secured and an investment decision made, construction could start in 2027 and power generation in 2030.
The Dublin Array operational base could be in Dun Laoghaire Harbour. Dublin Array was awarded a Maritime Area Consent in late 2022. It won support in Ireland’s first Offshore Renewable Electricity Support Scheme (ORESS) auction in May 2023 and has a grid connection offer from EirGrid.
