Socomec has unveiled its latest innovation, the SUNSYS HES XXL© SKID, a turnkey high-power energy storage solution designed to streamline large-scale industrial and grid-connected projects. The system integrates battery energy storage components, transformers, and switchgear on a single SKID platform, making it a ready-to-use solution for low and medium-voltage applications from 1 MVA / 1 MWh upwards.
As Europe experiences rapid growth in utility-scale and commercial energy storage (projected to make up 45 % and 25 % of new capacity by 2028, respectively), Socomec’s all-in-one solution aims to accelerate deployment timelines while reducing installation risks and project costs.
By eliminating the need for multiple Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) contractors, the pre-engineered system significantly simplifies procurement and onsite setup. Project developers can simply connect AC power, DC battery cables, and communication links, with minimal on-site engineering required.
“The SUNSYS HES XXL© SKID is designed for speed, reliability, and ROI,” said Etienne Cottrant, Socomec’s Energy Storage Solutions Specialist. “It supports front-of-the-meter applications, heavy-duty EV charging, and co-located renewables, all while easing integration into existing networks,” Cottrant added.
The compact design also optimises space use, making it ideal for industrial sites looking to scale efficiently. Socomec’s innovation ensures faster project delivery, supports renewable energy growth, and helps meet the EU’s 2050 carbon-neutral targets.
