SPEL wins $7.1 M transformer order in India
Supreme Power Equipment secures major contracts from NLC India and TNPDCL for inverter duty and distribution transformers, boosting its growing order book.

India, Tamil Nadu: Supreme Power Equipment Limited (SPEL), a manufacturer of power and distribution transformers listed on the NSE under the symbol SUPREMEPWR, has landed a new domestic contract valued at approximately $7.1 M (Rs60.9 crore) from NLC India Limited, a Navratna Public Sector Enterprise.
The agreement includes the supply of inverter duty transformers, tailored to meet the specific technical requirements of NLC. The execution timeline for this project is estimated at six months.
In a separate deal announced earlier, SPEL received a domestic order worth $1.2 M (Rs10.02 crore) from the Tamil Nadu Power Distribution Corporation Limited (TNPDCL). This order, confirmed on 16 May 2025, calls for the delivery of distribution transformers in two capacities: 100 kVA / 22 kV and 200 kVA / 22 kV. The transformers will be engineered in line with TNPDCL’s technical criteria, with delivery expected within four months.
To date, SPEL has manufactured and delivered over 17,000 transformer units across its portfolio. As of 21 May 2025, the company holds an order book worth approximately $13.6 M (Rs116 crore), reflecting continued momentum in domestic demand.
