Russia: Agents of Ukraine’s Defense Intelligence have conducted a sabotage operation in Kaliningrad, Russia, targeting a key power substation that supplied energy to facilities linked to the Russian military-industrial complex.

According to Ukrainian intelligence sources cited by Suspilne, the attack occurred around 4:00 a.m. on 14 June. The operatives reportedly drained coolant from a power transformer, causing it to overheat. The resulting fire inflicted significant damage to the substation.

The sabotage completely cut off the power supply to nearby consumers, including Russian military-industrial facilities and Armed Forces units in the area. Current estimates put the financial impact of the sabotage at approximately $5 M.

“This operation demonstrates that Russia no longer has safe rear zones – neither in the east, the west, nor anywhere on the planet,” said a source from Ukraine’s military intelligence. “Everything Russian involved in the war against Ukraine will burn, sink, and be destroyed, regardless of its protection or location.”

The Kaliningrad attack marks another instance in Ukraine’s broader strategy to undermine Russia’s military capabilities, not only in occupied territories but also within Russia’s own borders. It follows a series of similar operations in recent months targeting logistics, infrastructure, and industrial assets that support the Russian war effort.

Ukrainian defense officials maintain that such strikes are essential in disrupting the supply chains and production networks that enable continued aggression against Ukraine.
