USA, California: Virginia Transformer has delivered a power transformer to the Vega 5 solar energy project in Folsom, California. The 30/50 MVA, 92/34.5 kV generator step-up unit is designed with a 60-year service life and is set to help deliver solar energy to the electrical grid.

The Vega 5 facility forms part of the Vega SES Complex, a project of PV energy and battery storage infrastructure under construction in Imperial County, California. The complex will consist of a 350 MW alternating current PV solar energy facility with an integrated 350 MW battery storage system, together with on-site substations, interconnection facilities, associated electrical equipment, and access roads.
