This intermediate-level contract management course covered the essential elements and tasks of effective contract management. The core responsibilities are shared between employers and employees - companies must invest in training, while contract managers must demonstrate their skills and experience. Crucial contract management traits include collaboration, communication, business knowledge, interpersonal skills, and attention to detail. Standardized templates, workflow management, and data analytics are valuable tools to increase productivity and minimize risk. Contract managers act as facilitators, coordinating the contract lifecycle from inception to closeout. Key tasks involve managing compliance, stakeholder communication, budgets, and risk. Developing wisdom through trial-and-error, as well as leveraging the expertise of experienced "grey beards", are emphasized. Overall, the course provided a comprehensive overview of the multifaceted role of the modern contract manager.
