    Basic Level illustration

Hosted by: Chris Gerber / Free

A MASTER CLASS FOR NON-LEGAL MANAGERS AND EXECUTIVES

This was the third and final live session of the basic-level contract management course. The presenter, Chris Gerber, addressed questions from the previous session, clarifying the differences between arbitrators and adjudicators. The course then explored the importance of risk management in contract administration. Key risk areas discussed included lack of contract visibility, inconsistent standards, compliance issues, and financial/reputational risks. Chris outlined strategies for mitigating these risks, such as using legal professionals, evaluating and scoring risks, and developing checklists. An example was provided on managing compliance risks through a matrix approach. The course emphasized that this was an introductory level, with more advanced intermediate and master's level programs to follow, covering topics like analyzing RFQs, selecting contract strategies, and administering projects. Attendees were encouraged to consider continuing their contract management education through these future offerings.
