This is the first e-lessons in the series about transformer testing, from basics of factory acceptance tests, which might be extended with more detailed and specific topics.
This e-lesson marks the start of the Transformers Academy's course on transformer testing. The course will cover the fundamentals of factory acceptance tests, with the potential to delve into more advanced topics based on audience feedback. Participants will experience a structured format, with 35-minute presentations followed by 15-minute Q&A sessions. The focus will be on IEC standards, though the inclusion of IEEE standards is open for discussion. The lesson introduces the classification of transformer tests, highlighting the importance of proper test sequences and equipment requirements. Preparation for factory acceptance testing, such as transformer assembly and identification, is also discussed. Overall, this introductory lesson sets the stage for a comprehensive exploration of transformer testing practices.

Balazs Sztari
CG Electric Systems HungaryBalazs Sztari is the head of Testing and Quality Control department at CG Electric Systems Hungary (formerly Ganz) who produces power transformers and rotating machines.
He joined the company in 1999 after he graduated as electrical engineer in Budapest. Beside of factory acceptance tests, his team performs commissioning, diagnostics and R&D tests on power transformers and rotating machines.
He is currently a member of Cigre A2.53 working group.
